‘Populism and Foreign Policy’ is a research project funded by the German Research Foundation that investigates the impact of populism on foreign policy from a comparative perspective. The project attempts to explain variations in the international behaviour of populist governments and to theorize populist foreign policy through an iterative, abductive process.
Project POP-DISC
‘Populist Discourses on COVID-19 in the Global South’ is a research project funded by the German Research Foundation that investigates populist narratives of the global pandemic. Exploring the cases of Brazil, Mexico, India, Israel and Turkey, it examines how these narratives are received, reproduced and/or contested by the wider public including on social media.
Project IDEoPOP
‘International Dimensions and Effects of Populism’ (IDEoPOP)’ is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Network that explores how populism intersects with both domestic and international politics and how it impacts international politics. Under the guidance of some of the leading scholars in this area, a new generation of doctoral candidates will be trained in the study of the international dimensions and effects of populism.
